Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2020-2021

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

The Moon Camp Explorers: Zayan Nabeel’s Team CZ092lz is where the team’s whole moon camp is. It is made of the Moon Base, Lunar Rover, Lunar Lander, Rocket, and the Lunar Orbital Space Station. The Moon Base has four elastic or rubber bands on bars to withstand any harsh collision or weather (if possible) on the Moon. It also has a tunnel so that it can be connected to another base and astronauts can easily travel through it. There is also the Lunar Rover, with extra cameras, a back camera, and there are rubber wheels that can climb tall craters and hard environments. The rocket has two escape routes if the rocket is no-functioning. There is the route through the top, while the other is through the window. There is nothing much to say about the Lunar Orbital Space Station, but the Lunar Lander has rubber or elastic bars like the Moon Base at the bottom and attached to it, except there are more. It has a radio to communicate and a satellite for solar power and for checking their surroundings, kind of like a radar.

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Shackleton crater

Why did you choose this location?

I chose this location because it is best fit for my moon camp and also uses the features of my moon camp, such as the elastic bars of the Moon Base, the wheels of the lunar rover, and other features.

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Which materials would you use?

I plan to build my moon camp using glass, steel, iron, metal, and copper.

Explain how your Moon Camp will provide the astronauts with:
Water
Food
Electricity
Air

My moon camp will provide water by using a water filter and converting it into two different things. One is water, so an astronaut can just head over to the water container in which the water is put into, and squeezes some water to catch into their mouths to drink (All this has not been added, except power, but will be added by astronauts that go into it. Sorry I didn’t add these, but I hope they will be added in the near future.).

My Moon camp will provide food by using a supplied container inside the Moon Base (Which is not in it, but it will be put in by other astronauts or workers) with food.

My moon camp will provide astronauts with power by using solar panels and converting it into energy.

My moon camp will provide astronauts with air by using the water filter I talked about earlier in B,
the second thing that water is converted into is oxygen. This is how astronauts will be able to breath air and refill their Primary Life Support Subsystem in space.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

A day on the moon for my astronauts would be like this: First, they would arrive through the rocket onto the Moon. If anything went wrong, they would’ve escaped through the 2 escape routes mentioned through the notes about the rocket. Then they would call the base for help. Anyway, they would arrive and they would set up the camp. They would set up the water filter, food container, the lunar rover, and other things. Then they would head to the Moon Base and unpack their things. After that, they would activate the rover and let it go, and fly the Lunar Orbital Space Station.
