Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2020-2021
In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description
Our lunar establishment consists of many parts, here are few . No.1:a Laboratory. Research is required for better understanding of the milky way . No.2: Living quarters will be facilitated within the lunar encampment so that the astronauts will be rested and happy 1. No.3: An Equipment room. We need to supply our astronauts with proper equipment for a successful camp. No.4: Greenhouse . Our greenhouse will facilitate blueberries, tomatoes, potatoes, zucchini ,wheat, lettuce, sunflower seeds, corn, and many more. No.5: Lunar lander. Our encampment will have three different types of lunar landers, each carrying different substances. One will transport water from earth, the second will transport different sources of protein, and the third will bring large amounts of soil for the plants. No.6: Mines. Our lunar habitat’s mines will consist of multiple fields of ice that will be used for mining water. Because our encampment is located in the lunar poles there will be plenty of ice for us to heat up and collect the water that the ice would transform into. No.6: The MDD (Miny digging device)will be used to dig holes for not only mines, but also to widen the crater our facility will be built beside. It will also be able to be transported from earth. There are more facilities, but that is all for now.Our lunar establishment consists of many parts, here are few . Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?
Clavius Crater Why did you choose this location?
We decided on locating the lunar camp beside the clavius crater because the clavius crater has the most molecular water in the moon and constant sunlight making it a prime location for our base. How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Which materials would you use?
We’ll be 3D printing our base with impact resistant material called acrylonitrile butadiene styrene which will be coated in aluminum to protect from radiation and other things. We’ll also need steel for airlocks and 6 inch thick silica glass for the observation room and the greenhouse. The reason for the glass is so that the sun can shine through, but there will be aluminum shutters so that they have a controlled amount of sunlight. The rocket ship will have a titanium frame and aluminum walls so that our rocket ship will have the necessary propulsion to reach the moon. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide the astronauts with:
|

Water
|
Food
|
Electricity
|
Air
|
We will drill into the lunar surface for molecular h20.We will put it through a purification system in order to make it clean. |
We will be providing the camp with food using a greenhouse that has adjustable shutters that give the plants the right amount of sunlight. |
We will be using solar energy in order to power our lunar camp because our camp will be constructed directly outside the clavius crater where there is constant sunlight |
We will use plants and algae from our greenhouse in order to get o2. We will ventilate the o2 throughout the lunar establishment. |
