Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2021-2022

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

Our lunar base will be triangular in shape. When we press a button on the rocket, it turns into a two-story triangular base. In the middle of each floor there is a tunnel to move from floor to floor. The ground floor is spherical in shape, On the ground floor there will be a pressurized airlock to exit and enter and a composting area and the gym for the astronauts and the greenhouse and in this there will be there will be a composting area. to make fertilizer for plants, algae, etc. On the first floor there will be the kitchen with a chicken coop then on the second there will be the shower, the anaerobic playroom. There will also be the dormitory, an experiment room and the computer room. In the telescope of the rocket we will put fish for aquaponics. There will be a chicken coop. Why did you choose this location?

We are going to place our lunar base on one of the poles, we will go to the pole where there is ice because we plan to make robots which will bring water, the journey will be more pleasant for the robots. We will do anaerobic composting, which will make it less cold.

How do you plan to build your Mooncamp? Which materials will you use?

We will use materials from the moon. With a large 3D printer, the base will be created before the astronaut arrives.

To supply us with water, we will use a robot that works with solar energy. He will drill the ice, he will pump the water and there he will store it in a reservoir. When the tank is full, he will come back and empty the water into a tub.

We will bring back salmon eggs, we will do aquaponics, we will eat the fish. We will bring back chickens

In the tank of the robot we will put a turbine, it will create energy. We will store the energy in several fuel cells with solar panels

The oxygen will be create thanks hydrolysis process. We will have oxygen to breathe and hydrogen as combustible.

We will protect ourselves with polyethylene suits.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

The astronaut wakes up, he goes to look for an egg in the chicken coop and he feeds the hens. He cooks and he eats breakfast. He’s going to exercise and then he’s going to take a shower. He is going to explore the moon. He returns to his exploration. He is going to eat his lunch. He is going to do experiments and he communicates his discoveries to the Earth. He goes to see the state of the plants and he waters them and He puts the food scraps in the compost and goes to see the state of the chickens and the fish. The astronaut will see if there are any problems with the robot. He has dinner and goes to take a shower. He goes to the playroom, he plays with the other astronaut and he goes to the dorm to sleep
