Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2021-2022

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

Our base will be located underground and will have the shape of a hexagon. On the 1st floor it will have 4 rooms and the 2nd floor has 6 rooms. Each room will have a different functionality such as storing food, growing plants, an experiment room, a computer room…

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?
Close to the lunar poles
Why did you choose this location?

Our lunar base will be located near the lunar poles and in a lunar lava tunnel.

We chose this location to protect ourselves from meteorites and solar rays (lunar lava tunnel) but also to have a more acceptable temperature and to have all the time the light of the sun’s rays to have energy thanks to the solar panel (lunar poles)

How do you plan to build your Mooncamp? Which materials will you use?

We will use materials found on the moon, like regolith. Also we want used all that waste human which arrive on the moon after expedition. We can find many things an reuse it !

We will recycle all water and airlock the base entrance

We will grow vegetables thanks to the greenhouse but we will also have a supply of food.

We will have solar panels on the surface of our base that orients to the sun and we will also have a fuel cell to store energy.

Our base will contain a greenhouse with plants and algae

As our base will be located in a lava tunnel we will be protected from meteorites and the sun’s rays.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

He will get up around 8 a.m. he will eat and get ready then he will have a meeting at 9 a.m. with all the other astronauts he will talk about the day’s program in the morning will go outside to take samples he will eat around 1 p.m. then do experiments with what he found the morning, then he transferred the information to the earth. He will do his sport around 6 p.m. then he will eat around 8 p.m.
