Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2021-2022

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

The rocket is for transport between the moon and the earth. The drill will be used to drill holes in the moon to be able to collect the water that has in the ground. The lunar traveler will be useful for transporting the batteries of the solar panels. The giant printer will be very useful for the transformation of plastic into useful material on the moon. The house is placed underground because of the meteors that can fall on the moon. By placing it in the ground one is protected by the meteors. There is also that in the ground it is much colder than on dry land. The silo will be used to place all the food that we will have reflected thanks to the greenhouse that will grow our food that can grow. The car will be used to move from one place to another but mainly when the weather is not going to be nice outside or for any other trip to the moon.

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the lunar poles

Why did you choose this location?

We installed our station there because in this place the sun is always present no matter the time of day. So, know very practical like that the solar panel is always collecting energy to store it in the batteries.

How do you plan to build your Mooncamp? Which materials will you use?

We plan to build our camp with recycled plastic from our consumption with a giant printer. and this printer we want to make it with a mixture of metal, lunar detritus etc.

Water
Food
Electricity
Air
Protection

To provide water to our astronauts, we will dig in the lunar soil to recover the ice to melt it, of course to filter it. also no, we can recover the humidity accumulated in the greenhouse.

to keep food for a long time we will freeze it as we have done on earth. Freeze-drying, well known for the preparation of meals for astronauts, is actually a preservation method that consists of dehydrating food at very low temperature. We will also have a greenhouse with solar panels to grow several vegetables. We will take rock and extract the oxygen from the rock that we will put in silos to store in which will be connected to the house to have it.

Have a lunar trip to transport the battery from one place to another for the solar panels. With the solar panels it will have an energy storage next to it. So, our energy comes from the solar panels with the batteries that store them.

To breathe it is necessary to reconstitute the ambient environment and manufacture artificial air. The air comes from the cylinders of oxygen and nitrogen transported regularly by rockets to station. Must be replenished with oxygen and nitrogen.

To protect our base, we would mainly hide under ground and avoir radiation by using Lunar soil as shelter.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

Spending a day in our moon camps you could walk to the greenhouse, visit our habitat, watch TV, go to sleep if you lack sleep, eat good meals in the dining room, print materials with the large 3D printer, go to the toilet and you could also go dig holes to find sources or mysterious objects
