In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.
Our mooncamp consists of seven rooms and a main room. In the main room we tried to make an ecosystem. The plan was to set up some sort of recycling system. So the fishes made poop and we used that to make fertilizer for the plants. The plants would feed the fishes and both fish and plant would also be a good meal for us. Then we have an sleeping room and a room to write the reports. For water we have an own room with big canisters. The water we are winning out of moonrocks and you have to bringsome water and the fishes with you. We have an little kitchen to cook the fishes and the plants.
Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?
Close to the lunar poles
Why did you choose this location?
Because there we can get moonrocks for the water winning.
How do you plan to build your Mooncamp? Which materials will you use?
We use earth, wood, metal, stole and we would like to bring our own tree sapling with us. The astronauts need to breath, so we have bubbles that are filled with oxygen.
We are winning the water out of moonrocks.
Fishes, bambooroots, apples, pumpkins, water and carrots.
We have a little ecosystem that mostly is out of a water powerplant.
We have a tree sapling to get the oxygen.
We have bubbles that are for the protections of meteors and radiation.
Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts
When the astronauts wake up in their beds, they first go to the fishes and feed them. After this they go to the field and harvest the plants. Then they get some moonstones and earn the water out of them in the laboratory and then pour the water into the canisters. After this they feed the fishes again and cook and moon-specialized meal for lunch. Then they have some fun at the tree in the middle of the base and write the report about the day, feed the fishes the last time on this day and then water the plants and go to bed again.
