Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2021-2022

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

Our main mission on the moon is to gather moon rocks and experiment with them to figure out if we can use them as a source of energy. We will get there using a space x rocket ship specifically designed for this mission. To set up the camp we will use metal rooms that we will stick to the ground so it and later on we can expand on it with some extra moon rock. Then solar panels that are easy to place. Rovers will also be sent with the rocket to be able to mine the moon rocks. To tubes will be inflatable but it will stick to the structure.

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the lunar poles

Why did you choose this location?

The lunar poles because there is a lot of rocky area, which would be good since our main goal is to experiment with moon rocks. That is a good area to mine them. There are also some flat surfaces that are good to set up camp. The rovers have of road tires making it easier to mine. Although we made a solar energy farm to be able to power up the whole camp. The far side is mostly all flat making easier to setup, although one set back would be that it may be far from camp.

How do you plan to build your Mooncamp? Which materials will you use?

How will we plan to make our moon camp what materiel’s will we use we will use metal rooms that we will stick to the ground, so it doesn’t float away. We would also need some materials like dirt to plant trees so we can provide enough Oxygen for us to be able to breath we would need a generator so we are able to communicate with earth and so we can provide electricity to the camp. The camp will be mainly made out of metal that act like rooms and pathways made out of thick glass and metal.

It can provide water because we will have a system built that extract’s water if there is water from the moon. This moon camp will provide food because we will be planting different vegetables with the water that we obtained from the moons core, but we will not be able to eat any sort of meat. We can provide air my simply having a tree farm built around the base because we know that trees provide oxygen. We can provide protection from meteors by having a dome surrounding our camp to avoid maximum damage from asteroids.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

A day on the moon is very good since we have lots of food for our astronauts, and shelter, water, many more. A day on the moon is always planned so they have many tasks to do in order to be on the moon. They also go to the lab station to get information about what is on or about the moon.  They go to the solar panels to clean them and make sure they collect the energy from the solar panels and ready to use. Our astronauts go to the office and discuss meetings and what we are going to do from now on. Our astronauts also take very good care of our crops in order for them to eat and keep healthy. Our astronauts keep our rocket ship safe and clean for take off.
