Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2021-2022

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

Hello,

This is our home on the Moon! We are glad that we can participate in a Moon Camp project. We put a lot of effort into this and we hope you like it.

Our Moon Camp called Tararben consists of domes that are linked by tunnels so the astronauts will not be exposed to the extreme moon’s temperature. Domes are built out of transparent aluminium, plastic and glass. The buildings are powered by solar energy and that is why we put solar cells on the top of each building. There is a two-storey sleeping and working area. There is a bedroom with 16 beds on the first floor. We know that astronauts must maintain physical fitness so we made a Moon Gym on the second floor. We built a greenhouse and orchard to produce food and oxygen. We designed a garage for space vehicles that collects samples from the Moon Surface. The moon rovers will travel across the Moon surface and underground. The moon rover could extract the water ice from the underground.

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the lunar poles

Why did you choose this location?

We chose this location because of the evidence of ice underground the lunar poles.

How do you plan to build your Mooncamp? Which materials will you use?

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

In the morning the astronaut will have some breakfast using food in the greenhouse. After breakfast he/she will spend some time in the moon gym to do some exercises. In the afternoon he/she will investigate the Moon surface and underground using vehicles that are in the garage.
