Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2021-2022
In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description
In this tinkercad project we have simulated a moon terrain with the conditions that our buildings have to bear, for example our capsules are made of a transparent material which doesn’t let UV or sun rays pass through. We also have solar panels that get power from the sun and power up some batteries that send the power to every electrical system, like the lights or the kitchen’s home appliances. There is a vehicle as well that is used to travel through the terrain faster with any difficulties and to get samples of the moon terrain to study it in our laboratory. And finally we have radio wave antennas to communicate with the Earth. |

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?
Shackleton crater Why did you choose this location?
We choose this location because we can take energy from the Sun and make grow our crops. Also in this location we would not have lots of problems with the temperature. How do you plan to build your Mooncamp? Which materials will you use?
We would build the base on the Earth in small pieces and move them to the Moon. We would use materials like carbon fiber, iron, glass and a little bit of cement |

|
We have a monthly supply of water, and we store water from the astronauts breath |
We will have a storage of vacuum packed food. |
The power will be obtained from some solar panels and from a small sized nuclear reactor |
The capsules have oxygen from the Earth that are introduced to the capsules every hour. |
For solar protection, the couples will have UV rays protection and also the astronauts will have this protection. For asteroid impact, we have an emergency remote-controlled ship that could deviate its trajectory. |
Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts
When we get up, we first have a little breakfast and check that our solar panels, batteries and antennas are correct and they haven’t suffered any damage. After this, we go to investigate the Moon and take samples with our vehicle. Then, when we have caught the samples, we return to our base and analyse all the substances. We do some exercise before we eat and then look through the telescope and search for information during the rest of the day. |
