Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2021-2022

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

Our project is a model of a moon camp that astronauts will use. All the tech solutions are bunched together and easy to access. Same with Protection, living and working, and local resources. We use solar panels for our electricity.

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?
Sun side of the moon
Why did you choose this location?

We chose the location where the sun hits because of the warmth and solar panels.

How do you plan to build your Mooncamp? Which materials will you use?

We would use plastic and concrete of some sort.

We will provide the moon camp with water by using a water filter and pump system throughout the camp to provide clean water. This will come from lunar water on the moon.

We would use the greenhouses on the moon camp to provide food.

For our moon camp, we are going to use a lunar soil filtering machine to provide power, because lunar soil possesses the power to help with heat storage and electricity generation.

For us to get air we would use electrolysis to extract oxygen from materials.

For protection we would use shields and barriers made of lunar rock and titanium, a geodesic dome made of some strong material.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

First, they would wake up and make sure everything is running well and check on the plants. Then, they would check on the water and see the cleaness of it. This would lead to them eating breakfast and going on with their day. Doing their jobs, working out, etc. Then before they go to sleep they will check the equipment again for any technical problems.
