Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2021-2022

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

In our Moon Camp, there will be a surface part, where there are going to be green houses and 40 solar panels used for all the energy. There will also be an underground base where all the equipment will be stored and all the rooms will be (tredmills, storage, etc..).

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the lunar equator

Why did you choose this location?

For an easier production of water using the ice that exists in the poles.

How do you plan to build your Mooncamp? Which materials will you use?

We’re planning to build our moon camp with a surface part with the greenhouses and the solar panels and an underground part with all the types of equipment and rooms, as we already referred. We’ll be using titanium and material made of platinum and gold.

Water
Food
Electricity
Air
Protection

We’re going to add oxygen to hydrogen and burn it to give to the plants, and for the astronauts, we’re going to melt the ice and purify the resultant water.

For food, we’ll make food from the greenhouses and take prepared meals for everyone that will be stored in the underground base.

For power, we are planning on using the solar panels that will be connected to generators.

The air will come from the earth in an air tank that will be so comprised in the level of being fluid.

For protection, we’ll construct a dome over the surface part of our MoonBase.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

On our mission we´ll have 5 astronauts, each with different functions. As of one of our astronauts, astronaut Eytan, he has to move the gas bottles every 3 hours and refill the oxygen bottles that will be used for human use. In between three hour breaks he will be exercising, eating or giving updates on the status of the mission.
