Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2021-2022

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

Our moon base is large and divided into many different parts. We got a main lab, flying practice, fuel stations, greenhouse, we even have one rocket called the KC27. The reason why we named it that is because we have names that start with ‘K’ and ‘C’ . We also chose twenty seven because it was the first number we thought of.

We want to make our moon camp mostly underground but also above. The reason why we have this underground is because we will be safe but to also work well.

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Lunar lava tubes

Why did you choose this location?

The reason why we have this underground is because we will be safe but to also work well. It is known that the lava tubes might collapse but if we made a strong enough frame we could hold it up and save our self before crashing down.

How do you plan to build your Mooncamp? Which materials will you use?

The Mooncamp will be build on the moon over a long period of time. MOst of the materials will be put on a rocket and taken up to the Moon where robots and astronauts can put it all together. They will use a range of materials such as strong glass and cement as well as a strong titanium frame. Once the camp is built, they will take all the technology up to the moon to install.

Water
Food
Electricity
Air
Protection

The astronauts will be provided water by the lunar north and south poles as there is water and ice that we could try to make using science into drinkable water,

food by bringing growable food and live stock to breed and kill

power using solar panels as it will add energy to the lab

The air by the water as scientists are able to separate the air or O from H2O

The astronauts will be protected from collapsing by the titanium framework.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

You would wake up in your sleeping bag and you would look at the time, getting out of bed and going towards the main lab. You would put your space suit on, then you would be in a stage of launch. You go to a two doored room, you enter the room and close the first door then you open the second door, exit, then close the second door. Now you have started another daily adventure exploring the moon
