In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.
Team: Maker Moon Life #GirlPower Science Space – Moon Camp 2022
In the project there is a lunar base used for the astronauts to have a normal life as if they were on Earth. The project includes lodging, living room, bathrooms, kitchen, greenhouse, gym, communication room, general control and meetings, four rovers: one for easy communication, one that works as a camera, one to destroy and another to collect samples, satellites, protection equipment, and much more. This lunar base was developed with comfort and practicality in mind for the astronauts, considering the difficulties and problematic situations that could occur during the lunar camp.
Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?
Close to the lunar poles
Why did you choose this location?
I chose this location because it has a longer lifespan of energy emission from the sun, having greater energy
capture and because of the polar ice caps that have the availability of frozen water as an aid.
How do you plan to build your Mooncamp? Which materials will you use?
I would use a 3D printer and also a robot for my helper, and various plastic materials, glass, metal, cement, concrete, wood, etc.
Water through the polar ice caps.
Food through a greenhouse where various foods are being grown and through storage.
Power through solar plates that provide energy through the emission of sunlight.
Air through oxygen tanks implanted in the rooms and to step on the lunar soil a specialized suit with an oxygen cylinder.
Protection through protective equipment of debris crushers.
Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts
A day on the moon would be amazing, as they would have several resources
to draw on such as bedrooms to rest, a living room to watch TV, a gym to exercise, a kitchen to prepare tasty food, an analysis lab to
perform various experiments, a communications and general control lab, a greenhouse to grow food, and much more.
