Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2021-2022
In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description
For the correct construction of our moon camp we had to respond to numerous problems like food production, the protection from meteorites and radiations but also the energy production and the extraction and recycling of water. |

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?
Close to the lunar equator Why did you choose this location?
We have chosen that the moon camp will be located in the Sea of Tranquility to make meteorit falls less frequent. How do you plan to build your Mooncamp? Which materials will you use?
To realize our Moon Camp we will use magnesium which is a metal very light but resistant. We will transport it directly from the Earth and robots will build the Moon camp. When robots have finished, humans will be able to settle in the new construction safely. |

The water needed to live will be contained in specific reservoirs that will be on the moon surface. They will be filled with water that will be carried every year from the earth. |
Because of the strong solar radiation, cultivating on the lunar surface is impossible: for this will be installing greenhouses. In addition, an aquarium ,where fish of different species will be present, will be installed inside the lunar base to differentiate the diet. |
The moon camp will be powered by electricity that will be produced by the numerous solar panels which will be situated on the moon surface too. |
For the first days scientists will be able to breathe with the oxygen tank present in the rocket. Then the dioxygen will be produced through photosynthesis of plants. |
Due to frequent meteor falls we decided to build the moon camp under the lunar surface (at a depth of 500 m) so that scientists can work safely even in the event of a meteorite fall. |
Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts
The Moon Camp astronauts will have breakfast on the resting area where the fish tank is setting. Then will go to one of the laboratory to work on his/her science project. |
