Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2019-2020

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

We  will use nuclear for the electricity because the helium-3 is relatively abundant on the moon , and we will build our base in the crater that near the lunar pole and then bury it by the powder matter on the surface of the moon . Most of the astronaut in there  will be the robot they will help us to collect the electricity from the sun , the people who live in there will have entertainment time as well .

Why did you choose this location?

One rotation of the moon is 28 days , that mean the night on the moon will be 354 hours , long night cause the temperature drop sharply , if we build the base in the lunar pole then the time for  night will decrease , and there is some ice in the lunar pole on the moon so live in there we don’t need to worry about the water ,  but the temperature in the lunar pole on the moon is like the lunar pole on the earth so we will build our base underground , only the nuclear power and  the elevator-plant-entrance will in the outside .

There is underground water in the moon , and there may be an underground ocean in the ocean .

We can plant the cotton , rape and potatoes , then bring some arabidopsis, yeast and fruit flies from the earth then they will become a small food chain ,all are placed in sealed biological science experiment load tank , potato will become the staple food for the people who live in there , and rape is the main material for oil and it also can be the vegetable .

Helium-3 is relatively abundant on the moon , and it is the ideal fuel for the nuclear . You also can use the solar energy .

The gas state air on the moon is rare but the air can exist in the other form , the air can exist in the bubble form in some rock , use some chemical way to treat it , heating it or blasting it would make it possible to get unlimited air .

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Which materials would you use?

Nano materials , the properties it feature are melting point, magnetism, optics, heat conduction, and electrical conductivity .

The Moon environment is very dangerous for the astronauts. Explain how your Moon Camp will protect them.

There will be a safety shelf outside of my base that protect them from the alien(if they exist) and the meteorite , and the powder matter that is on the surface of the moon can protect them from the thermal stress , thermal expansion and cold .

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

When they wake up , robot will go out when the sunrise , it is still evening , they will go to the -1 floor for breakfast and take their lunch if they need to go out for work   than they will go to do the experiment outside or inside , after the work they will have free time before the dinner , after the dinner they will have a meeting about the work that they do today , after the meeting they will have the rest of the time before the bed . The robot will go back at the sunset .
