Moon Camp Pioneers Gallery 2020-2021

In Moon Camp Pioneers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Fusion 360. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

The lunar camp can meet the life needs of astronauts and provide the conditions for exploring the moon. Astronauts collect energy through solar panels and water and oxygen generation devices, and conduct scientific research through landers.

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

I want to build a lunar camp near the sun, ice and water. Because sunlight can be collected and converted into electricity, ice can be transformed into water, the source of life.

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe the techniques and materials you would use.

In the process of modeling, four hemispherical exterior walls are built symmetrically by mirror image, and the inner walls are pasted with anti radiation and anti extreme temperature materials. Then, studio, rest room, reception room and vegetable planting room are built in turn, and connected with each other by semicircle passage. Solar panels and water plants were built around the camp to collect energy, and landers were built to survey the moon.

The environment on the Moon is very dangerous for the astronauts. Explain how your Moon Camp will protect them.

The outer wall of the camp should be pasted with anti radiation and anti extreme temperature materials. The energy installation can work normally, and the food and daily necessities can meet the needs of life all the time.

Explain how your Moon Camp will provide the astronauts with:
Water
Food
Electricity
Air

In the early stage of living, people mainly drink the water from the earth, and in the later stage, they convert the ice source into water by collecting solar energy.

In the early stage, we eat the materials brought from the earth, and in the later stage, we plant vegetables in the closed greenhouse illuminated by the plant fill light

Solar panels around the camp collect solar light and convert it into electricity for daily electricity consumption. Oxygen and hydrogen are produced by electrolysis under the water electrolysis oxygen generation device. Hydrogen can be used as fuel to meet the needs of life.

A certain amount of oxygen is brought from the earth. At the same time, the oxygen is collected by the electrolytic water oxygen generation device, and the collected oxygen is transported to every corner of the camp through the air exchange system.

Explain what would be the main purpose of your Moon Camp (for example: commercial, scientific, and/or tourist purposes).

Because the lunar camp is like a simple outpost with a laboratory, where scientists can work for a long time and people can live here. The lunar camp provides a foothold for human beings to explore further.

Describe a day on the Moon for your Moon Camp astronaut crew.

After breakfast, the astronauts begin a day’s camp life. In the morning, they explore around the camp and collect valuable information for scientific research. After returning to the camp, they use advanced equipment to sort out and upload the collected information in the studio. After the afternoon break, read books to cultivate sentiment. When you are bored in your spare time, you can also run on the treadmill nearby. Go into the rest room in the evening.
