Project description

We build the main purpose of the camp of the moon and the direction is to facilitate our unique resources for development and application of the astronauts on the moon, and earth material application aspect of the research on the moon, the moon rocks and soil in the raw materials, rare element, analysis of the content, the possibility of exploring soil to cultivate crops and contains material for human availability; To study the survival mechanism of the moon, observe and record the growth process and growth state of familiar organisms on the moon, and conduct comparative experiments with the growth of organisms on the earth. To this end, because of the scientific research as the main direction, so for development and research, we will set up scientific research laboratory, biological laboratory, crop culture room and storage warehouse.

We mainly use 3D printing technology and wireless laser signal transmission technology to build the robot car. The construction materials can be considered to use the existing materials on the moon, such as lunar soil and lunar rock debris.

The transportation of materials and equipment used in the research is controlled by “intelligent transportation system”. Data is analyzed by ROS system, and the data is transmitted to the motor. The relationship between ROS and the motor is established through the drive file, which is used to drive the joint rotation of the mechanical arm and drive the motor to work,Intelligent controls will allow astronauts to summon robotic vehicles to help with a shout.

2.1 Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

A lava tube between 80°N and 85°N at the moon’s North Pole is a suitable site for a lunar base. The moon’s north and south poles are always illuminated by the sun, which can provide sunlight for crops in the cultivation chambers on the ground, and plenty of solar energy for solar panels. The North Pole is more habitable than other places, with temperatures between -50 and 0° C, and temperatures between 80°N and 85°N are higher than the North Pole. The existence of water ice in the north and South Polar regions facilitates the collection and research of water resources. The lava tubes formed by the moon’s lava eruptions are deep and wide, which are good for avoiding cosmic radiation and meteorites.

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe the techniques, materials and your design choices.

Considering the time and cost of transportation, the base material will be made of lunar soil and lunar rock debris, using 3D printing technology and wireless laser signal transmission construction robot. The lunar base is divided into the main base in the lava tube and the biological cultivation and experiment area on the vertical ground. The base will be supported in the lava tube. The base is built in a sealed hemispherical sphere, which is divided into three layers of living, storage and experiment from top to bottom. The inner wall of the base is wrapped with polysulfone (PSF), a thermoplastic engineering plastic prepared by polycondensation reaction containing a large amount of hydrogen element, to prevent the invasion of cosmic radiation.

The biological culture and experimental area is strictly sealed by air valve; The first floor is the experimental area and the second floor is the training area. The outer wall glass of the culture area is a pressure layer in the middle. The internal and external pressure difference requires a pressure layer to bear the air pressure. There is an anti scratch layer inside and an anti-collision layer outside; The inner layer is equipped with foldout shading layer, which is also constructed using PSF. The ROS system and photosensitive sensor are used to control the care needs of cultivated crops. The function is to lay down when the crops meet the light needs and prevent the crops from withering.

2.3 The environment on the Moon is very dangerous for the astronauts. Explain how your Moon Camp will protect them. (maximum 150 words)

The moon has no atmosphere to protect it from ultraviolet rays from the sun, and high-energy cosmic radiation is severe. Therefore, the inner wall of the moon is covered with 5-7cm PSF containing hydrogen.

The signal tower will scan the sky in real time. When the meteorite approaches, the data will be transmitted to the air defense system, so that the missile launcher will destroy the meteorite or deviate from the orbit.

Building the main base inside the lava tube is conducive to avoiding cosmic radiation, meteorite invasion, extreme temperature (the room has a constant temperature control system, to ensure the basic production comfort in the extremely cold environment) and dust storms and other hazards; The lunar environment is not suitable for long-distance exploration, so a laser signal tower is needed to remotely control the exploration intelligent robotic lunar rover with laser signal as the medium for long-distance lunar exploration.

2.4 Explain how your Moon Camp will provide the astronauts with:

Water
Food
Power
Air

An area is set on the residence floor of the base to store water. The water circulation system and RO Technology, i.e. reverse osmosis technology, are used to recover daily domestic water, such as washing water, water vapor exhaled by people, and even urine. At the same time, we can consider mining the water ice near the Arctic lava pipe base to carry out the credibility experiment of water production.
The water circulation system is connected to the base through THE ROS system, and astronauts can timely check and control the system by relying on the computer platform. For pipeline cleaning and maintenance, the “mouse woman bionic deformation robot for pipeline inspection” can reduce the waste of manpower and economic costs.

In addition to some stored non perishable food such as biscuits, a culture room will be set on the ground above the base to cultivate vegetables, melons and fruits and plant plants, which can meet the food needs; At the same time, the food residues of vegetables, melons and fruits will be transformed into fertile soil in a vacuum environment; The soil required for planting cannot be used on the moon, and most of it needs to be transported from the earth. Therefore, considering the shortage of soil, most of the crops will be cultivated in aqueous solution, reducing the dependence on the earth.

The solar radiation of the moon is stronger than that of the earth, so there is plenty of solar energy available. Main energy collection: Folding omnidirectional solar photovoltaic power generation device 360° without dead Angle are used to collect solar energy and stored in batteries for various energy needs; Solar panels can be installed on exploration robot cars and remote-controlled robots, so that they can supply energy directly.
Other energy sources, such as the establishment of small nuclear power plants and hydrogen produced by electrolyzing water, can be used for fuel.

Oxygen can be produced by electrolysis of water, and hydrogen can be used as fuel. Indoor planting of some plants and algae, coupled with the photosynthesis of crops in the plant culture chamber, can not only produce oxygen but also absorb carbon dioxide; Lunar soil also contains plenty of oxygen, which can be heated and extracted in the laboratory.
Base used “An imitation unicorn beetle flapping mechanism purifier for indoor air filtration” to strengthen base in air purification and recycle, the purifier adopts HEPA filter, draw lessons from the characteristics of the beetles, put the wings on both sides of the outlet, compared with the general air purifier, increasing the surface area of the outlet, to improve the efficiency of air purification. Second, its wings can be folded, after folding protective cover, effectively reduce the storage space when standby.

2.5 Explain what would be the main purpose of your Moon Camp.

The main purpose of the lunar camp is scientific research: to carry out astronomical observations on the moon;  A space power station on the moon for use on Earth;  To develop various mineral resources of the moon, to study minerals in lunar rocks and soil,  as well as lunar survivable machinery,  to provide feasibility studies for space production of water resources such as water ice,  and to discuss the availability of these studies to human beings;  Explore the growth of earth life on the moon, and compare with the growth on earth.

3.1 Describe a day on the Moon for your Moon Camp astronaut crew.

Our astronauts get up in the clear morning, go to the bath area for washing, by the rotating members in the kitchen to prepare food, then began to eat, if there is not finished food residue, then put into the designated vacuum area for soil fermentation;

After a short rest is to enter the state of work:

The astronauts in charge of biological cultivation take the elevator directly to the culture room for daily cultivation of crops, and the samples rely on “intelligent transportation system” control small remote control vehicle transfer to the experimenter in charge of biological experiments for research;

The astronauts in charge of the facilities outside the base put on their spacesuits and went out to check the integrity of the facilities and check the collection of minerals. After returning to the base, they returned to the intelligent control person in charge of mineral recovery.

Astronauts who are responsible for lunar surface exploration and intelligent control go to the working area to check and record the exploration progress of the machine car, and send the mineral collected during sleep to the warehouse with remote control machine car, and select the material to be studied on this day to the laboratory layer, for the material scientific research experimenter to study and obtain experimental data;

After lunch, the astronauts take a lunch break. After the working time in the afternoon, they continue to perform their respective duties. After that, the experimenters in each zone unify the experimental data of today and past in the working area at the same time.

After the illumination time of crops in the culture chamber is satisfied, the cultivator pulls up the shading layer with the help of the photosensitive control system, and harvests the dinner and breakfast and lunch of the next day.

At the end of the dinner, the astronauts check the normal operation of the base equipment. Before the formal rest, they can use the exercise machine to complete the daily exercise needs, to ensure the normal amount of exercise of the body. After a period of relaxation, they wash and rest, and prepare for the next day’s work.
