In Moon Camp Pioneers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Fusion 360. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.
Main goal those facilities, is provide safety enviroment for astronauts and a purpose this comlex will be self-contained. The moon base at first phase will be able to:
– science experiments
– development moon enviroment around base
– producing energy to manufacturing essential fabrics to extension base
At second phase:
– station able self-sustainable in producing food, water and air (nitrogen and oxygen)
– manufacturing proppelant to rockets (hydrogen and oxygen)
The station will be like second house for astronauts. Construction is designed in two compartments:
-live area, which is work area, that conservation and exploring the Moon enviroment.
The base is able to pernamently a three-members crew, they would be able live at least one year at the station.
This project is based on real achievements, whose manking invented (technology) through the ages.
2.1 Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?
Our moon station is built in shacketlon crater on south pole the Moon. There is many sunlight and water that we can producing electric energy and
oxygen and rocklet proppelant. This place is near a periselene altitude of moon orbital station that is gate way.
This place can favour in landing in future from Gate Way station.
2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe the techniques, materials and your design choices.
A main technique in building the base is use 3D printing technology by utilization local resources like moon regolit obviously some essential thigs are producing from aluminium or steel.
First manufacturing-tools would bring by a Starship or Ariane 6.
At first phase:
components will connect with Gate way station and deorbiting to final place.
At second phase:
Remote rovers and mobile 3d Printer create first essential live area (living room, agriculture room, bathroom) and science area (Lab 1)
At third phase:
first Astronauts will resuming expansion the station with help tools, which will be bring or manufacture in second phase
Station is self-sustainable to live and researching. Of course this one can be able to wide expansion.
2.3 The environment on the Moon is very dangerous for the astronauts. Explain how your Moon Camp will protect them. (maximum 150 words)
vacuum is very dangerous for astronauts and without atmospheric air (like earth) they will die. The solution this problem is very hermetic doors to each room.
Cosmic radiation could be reason a cancer in astroauts systems.
Solution is build live area under moon surface (where astronauts spend a lot of time). A cosmic radiotion will be absorbtion by regolit.
2.4 Explain how your Moon Camp will provide the astronauts with:
First hektoliters a water will bring from earth, but at through time water would be manufacturing by:
-Water is recycled from: urine, breathe air. This solution is using on ISS and efficiency is approximately 90%.
-Second source a water is Moon ice under surface.
All wastewater will be collected and clenead to future utilization or heating system a base.
Of course water will be utilizing for producing rocket proppelant like hydrogen and oxygen by electrolisis. And creating imitation earth atmosphere (oxygen)
In first period a food will bring from earth but in far periods food would be producing from agroculture room, which can provide enought food to live.
Diet include vegetables and fruits. These ones would be genetic modified to better efficiency. And optimized growth light to photosinthesis.
A station Main sources eletric energy will be:
Kilopower and Solar arrays.
Solar array can provide energy when is sunny but in night we must using alternative energy sources like…
…Kilopower use a fission reaction(by Uranium-235) to producing heat that is carried to the Stirling
converters with passive sodium heat pipes. One kilopower reactor can producing approximately 10 kW electric energy or 40 kW thermal energy.
Two sources energy can be safety than only one source energy.
A main energy is electric energy.
Rovers and anybody tools would be powered by RTG.
Air would be producing from water via electrolisis and producing oxygen or MOXIE (research device in mars rover Persevereance) show that we can recycle CO2 to O2.
Nitrogen we can produce from urine and this one can be utilize like fertilizer to plants.
2.5 Explain what would be the main purpose of your Moon Camp.
This base can be very helpful to undertand for example: growing plants , behaviour human organism in other gravitation force. Station would give us essenstial experience in colonisation a solar system and expanse ecological technology for example: propulsion vehicles or advance material technology on earth. Etc

3.1 Describe a day on the Moon for your Moon Camp astronaut crew.
Astronauts wake up and preparing to daily orders like science experiments and conservation station. They eating a break fast and tick all the boxes.
