Our camp is planned to be built in the Acadia Plain area of Mars, which is rich in shallow ice resources and has a flat terrain. The main purpose of the camp is to explore and study Mars water ice resources, biomass energy, rock, soil and mineral resources, etc.
In the construction of the camp, we choose to use inflatable airbags, carbon fiber sheet skeleton, sulfur concrete cladding and modular doors to deal with the problems of a weak Martian surface atmosphere, strong radiation and insignificant magnetic field. Meanwhile, the water required to make concrete on Mars can be directly obtained by mining water ice, while the soil can be used as aggregate and has the main component of polymer binder.
In order to deal with emergency situations, the camp is equipped with monitoring devices, which can monitor the external environment of Mars in real time. In addition, the camp also has a water supply area, which can store and purify the water collected from the ground on Mars and recycle the water in the camp.
In terms of oxygen preparation, oxygen is produced by growing algae plants (such as seaweed) in the planting area. The energy supply of the whole camp is generated by controlled nuclear fusion using cesium and rhenium isotopes in the Tokamak device in the energy supply area, and hydrogen is produced by electrolyzing water and methane fuel is produced by extracting carbon dioxide from the Martian atmosphere in the scientific research area.
