Opis projektu

We’ve selected Arcadia Planitia for our lunar camp due to its lack of boulder fields, minimizing landing obstacles. The higher atmospheric pressure here makes it less prone to Mars’ extreme weather. Arcadia Planitia’s vast water ice resources are essential, and its flat terrain is suitable for vertical spacecraft landings. Located in mid-latitudes, it avoids the large temperature variations of the equator and poles, with mild summers and winters, and is near Mons Olympus, facilitating Mars tourism and development.
We will use 3D printing technology and deploy numerous robots to construct the base, reducing the need for human labor. We will experiment with sulfur concrete made from Mars materials, producing it directly on the Martian surface. To protect against dust storms and meteorites, we will build an emergency zone underground, connecting it to all areas to safeguard the astronauts.
Our base’s focus is scientific research: enhancing Mars’ soil and causing plants to mutate to thrive in it, enabling large-scale planting for food and oxygen. Oxygen production will be augmented using meteorite catalysts obtained by AI chemists, which are ten times more efficient than MOXIE. Water resources will be managed using the “Rodriguez Well” principle, drilling through the surface to the ice layer below and heating it to form a reservoir and a continuous water supply system. Our energy needs will be met through nuclear fusion and solar power.
Our base’s main innovation is the “Gherkin of Mars” central zone, with its eggshell shape designed to minimize dust storm damage and a grid-like perimeter to intercept meteorites. The central zone is divided into five layers: control, research, living, storage, and the underground emergency zone. Eight astronauts will handle central control room operations, area inspections, maintenance, and research lab projects.
