Project description

To live on the moon, we need to have a place to sleep in, to do experiments in, to live in! We need to have a house to live in on the moon. You can’t just take the pieces of a normal house that you have on Earth. It would probably just float of the moon. For a house on the moon, we would need special properties. All of the important places that people would go to a lot of the time would need to be connected. The houses could be dome shaped and all connected to each other so that people don’t need to put on heavy spacesuits to get from. Also, since the Moon doesn’t have oxygen, it would need to be connected to the oxygen tank. Living on the moon is complicated, but it is very cool to try!

On the moon the solar panels have to be straight because the sun is directing the sunlight to the moon like that. On the moon you get more sunlight than earth and then there will be more energy. We can get oxygen from regolith. Regolith will be collected by rovers.

To get food on the moon you have to let the plants get sun but they also need darkness for a little. But on the moon the day is 14 earth days and the night is 14 earth days as well, so it will be very hard to grow food on the moon. Plants need the sun and darkness but 14 earth days of sunlight and 14 earth days of night is just going to make the plants die. One way is to try to make a greenhouse that can move around so when the plants need sunlight the greenhouse will move to a near place that the astronauts can get to. When the plants need a little bit of darkness the astronauts could move the greenhouse to a near place that has darkness.
