Project description

Good morning, we are from 2nd Baccalaureate, and we are going to explain our design for the Moon Camp of the Steam Aerospace Research project applied to the classroom. We have made this model using the Tinkercad program.

First of all, the lunar base is structured by 5 large domes linked together by circular tunnels.

Among the tunnels that connect the central dome with the rest of the infrastructure, there are several binomial rooms, each containing a bunk bed, and a personal work area.

Each dome is organized to fulfill a function. The first is the greenhouse, dedicated to the cultivation of vegetables such as lettuce and potatoes. This contains two water tanks for irrigating these crops.

Next we would have the garage, where two space vehicles are placed, which include different mobile devices for: the extraction of lunar material for the study of the composition of the terrain; and the recharging of the oxygen cylinders used for human movement outside the base. In addition, these transports include two solar panels to obtain occupied electrical energy for the vehicle’s battery.

Next, we would be located in two domes used to supply energy to the lunar base. One of them is made up of a series of solar panels that are automatically oriented towards the face of the sun, and an energy store to distribute energy through the domes and reserve excess energy.

The other uses the electrolysis process also to produce energy. Electrolysis is a physical process by which a substance in solution is decomposed through electric current.

The last dome is the central one, where the mess hall and the meeting room are located, in which the high command from the base deals with important issues.

Finally, we would find the space rocket which is located on a platform connected to the lunar base.
