Project description

We planned a moon camp for astronauts to stay there a long time.

Our class has been divided into five groups and every member has their own role to follow. We had two meetings between the experts, while the other meetings were between the members of the group.

Every group has one member that worked on the 3D project which shows us the plan of the area.

Areas

All the rooms have an emergency button, in case of danger. It emits a sound in all the areas to be rescued.

Sleeping room

The sleeping room is a place where you can sleep. In this room, we had underfloor heating, beds and closets. The group went into detail about solar panels for hot & cold water and the sleep deprivation effects. We have attached the 3D project link of this module realized with Tinkercad.

Airlock

The airlock is a room that allows the transition for people and materials between two environments at different pressures.

The keypad is made up of two parts: the part on the left is a numeric keypad, to proceed you need to enter the code. Otherwise, on the right side you can place your hand and access via fingerprint and it is used to open the doors. Energy containers are used in case of absence of the sun for long periods of time.They can be loaded with panels that absorb solar energy and transmit it to the base.

Kitchen

The kitchen is a place where you can cook and eat.. We put a vegetable garden, that is usually a plot of land which, as a result of processing, fruits and vegetables are obtained. For this area, we also went into detail about diet (carbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins..) and conservation techniques.

Washroom (or services)

The washroom (or services) is a place where you can do anything connected to hygiene. In the bathroom, there’s a shower, bidet, toilet, sink and in the center, there’s a table full of medicines, in case of emergencies. The experts of this group were going into detail about the filter for urine, bacteria, infections and hygiene. The group also built a possible filter for urine.

Gym

The gym is a place where you want to improve and maintain physical fitness and health. And like another group, they were concentrated about the theme diet, then where to place the classic gears in a gym and how much it’s their distance.
