The Rover Havi is a minimalist rover designed for collecting lunar rock and soil samples. It weighs only 50 kg yet can carry a full complement of sample acquisition tools. Its lightweight body is built from carbon fiber composites for durability while minimizing mass.
The rover has a single seat and limited life support for the short excursions needed to search out and retrieve samples. Wheel-like flippers provide mobility over loose regolith while imaging sensors detect potential sampling locations.
Communication and navigation are enabled by a high-gain antenna which links to lunar and Earth networks.
The nimble Sample Scout rover can traverse up to 20 km searching for and gathering invaluable rock and soil samples. It provides focused functionality for highly productive surface exploration and discovery on the Moon, with its lightweight yet rugged design.
