Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

Our mooncamp is a center of evolution and development. We made it with a lot of toil and patience. To start with, it ‘ll be near to the moon equator. Firstly, there ‘ll be Life Supplie and Research Systems (LSRS). There are underground water and oxygen tanks with supplies for 5 months. Secondly, there is a green house for food and a house for the astronauts to live. Thirdly there is a dome to protect the mooncamp from the radiation and the meteorites. For the end, there is a Special Moon Rover (SMR).

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

No one astronaut will go to the moon until the mooncamp ‘ll be done. The robots will do all the work for us: they ‘ll build all the buildings, they ‘ll make the life supply systems and they ‘ll fill them with liquid water and oxygen.

2.1.a – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the lunar poles

2.2.b – Why did you choose this location?

We choose to build our mooncamp near to the moon equator, because the days and the nights have the same time. Also, we choose it because the temperatures are normal in relationship with other moon areas.

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

As we said, robots will build our moon camp. It ‘ll made on Earth, in pieces, and then robots will assemble it on moon’s surface. We ‘ll use water ice from the moon’s poles and solar and nuclear energy to work.

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

Our mooncamp protects the astronauts from the harsh environment of moon with two systems: a huge dome and a modern thermal balancing system. The dome is a huge construction made of meteoriteproof glass. The thermal balancing system is a modern system to balance the temperature in the dome. With them and the help of the human being we will colonize moon.

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.

For the water and the breathable air we ‘ll have underground  tanks.  Also, for the food, there will be  a greenhouse and meat from the Earth for a long time. Finally, for the energy supply there will be a nuclear power plant and solar panels too.

4.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

They ‘ll  train to fix all the machinery that ‘s used to make the moon camp work. Also, they ‘ll train at the Earth’s poles to  accustom the low temperatures and the very big day and night. Finally, they ‘ll train to could be together with other people for a long time.
