Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

 

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

Translation:

This project has a 3D design created in tinkercad, which contains a lunar base, a rocket, a satellite… and this report on the work, to later send it to the moon camp project

Este proyecto cuenta con un diseño 3D creado en tinkercad, el cual contiene una base lunar, un cohete, un satélite… y este informe sobre el trabajo, para posteriormente enviarlo al proyecto de moon camp

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

Translation:

My astronaut is part of a NASA investigation which aims to find various amounts of minerals on the moon, for which he would need a suitable space camp for the excavation and investigation of the lunar soil.

Mi astronauta es parte de una investigación de la nasa la cual pretende encontrar diversa cantidad de minerales en la luna, para la cual necesitaría un campamento espacial adecuado para la excavación e investigación del suelo lunar.

2.1.a – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

2.2.b – Why did you choose this location?

Translation:

With a diameter of 29 km, it is a very wide crater. It also has a small ramp of ejected lunar materials, from where a large amount of useful materials can be extracted for the construction of the lunar base.

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

Probablemente me establecería en un cráter, siendo que en estos hay una gran superficie donde poder establecerse. De la tierra necesitaría

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

Translation:

The lunar camp would be built with some material resistant to the pressure and soil conditions of the moon, in addition to having several rooms for planting vegetables and storing materials.

El campamento lunar estaria construido con algún material resistente a las condiciones de presión y suelo de la luna, además de que contaria con varias salas para la plantación de vegetales y almacen de materiales.

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.

Translation:

My lunar camp would have a room with an artificial garden as well as a water tank and oxygen tanks. It would also have solar panels to restore power and a satellite to communicate with the earth and schedule recovery missions.

Mi campamento lunar contaria con una habitación con un huerto artificial asi como un tanque de agua y tanques de oxígeno. Tambien contaria con placas solares para reestablecerse de energia y un satelite para comunicarse con la tierra y programar misiones de reestablecimiento

4.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

Translation:

Your training program will include basic training in plant care for the orchard, how to use space technologies, how to use oxygen tanks and decompression corridors, etc.
After this basic training, special physical training and gravitational resistance training for spaceship travel will begin.

Su programa de formación contara con formación básica de cuidado de plantas para el huerto, como utilizar las tecnologías espaciales, como utilizar los tanques de oxígeno y los pasillos de descompresión, etc.Tras esa formación básica empezaran los entrenamientos físicos especiales y los entrenamientos de resistencia gravitatoria para los viajes en la nave espacial.
