Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

Translation:

It is a project of the Moon to make it easier for astronauts to be on the Moon for a while without missing a single need. We have put a dome for food and drink, a space rocket, a pipe, some fences that surround the territory. According to our calculations they could be on the Moon between 6 and 8 months. There are pipes whose function is to collect water and take it to a tank so that the astronauts can drink water and avoid dehydration. The rocket is in a more remote area than everything else. The project is well designed to survive with ease.

Es un proyecto de la Luna para facilitar a los astronautas a estar durante un tiempo en la Luna sin que les falte ni una necesidad. Hemos puesto una cúpula para la comida y la bebida, un cohete espacial, una tubería, unas vallas que rodean el territorio. Según nuestros cálculos podrían estar en la Luna entre 6 y 8 meses. Hay unas tuberías que su función es coger el agua y la llevan a un depósito para que los astronautas puedan beber agua y que no se deshidraten. El cohete está en una zona mas alejada que todo lo demás. El proyecto está bien diseñado para sobrevivir con facilidad.

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

Translation:

Because it has enough capacity to survive between 6 and 8 months, they can be fed well because food and drink are inside a capsule so that it is not in poor condition to eat. And if they go to the moon it is better to build a lunar camp to be safer and better

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

Translation:

It protects them with all the elements there are, because it helps them to survive, for example: solar panels for electricity, the capsule to preserve food and drink.

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.

The water and food are in a capsule so that they are perfectly preserved and there is another capsule in which there are plants that will grow and bear fruit thanks to the pipe that gives them water and air

4.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

Translation:

They should practice their physique a lot since it is very important and on the Moon we have set up a mini gym so they can improve their resistance and go without eating for a day because they may go without eating on the Moon one day.

Deberían de practicar mucho el físico ya qué es muy importante y en la Luna hemos puesto un mini gimnasio para qué puedan mejorar su resistencia y estar un día sin comer porque puede que en la Luna estén sin comer algún día.
