Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

Translation:

This project is made for 2 people to live in the lunar camp with water, food, energy, air and fun.

Este proyecto está hecho para que vivan 2 personas en el campamento lunar con agua, comida, energía, aire y diversión.

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

Translation:

The astronaut wants to go and build a lunar camp to investigate curiosities about Earth and so that we can know what things are coming to Earth or what could happen in the future.

El astronauta quiere ir y construir un campamento lunar para investigar curiosidades sobre la Tierra y para que podamos saber qué cosas se acercan a la Tierra o que podría pasar en un futuro.

2.1.a – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

2.2.b – Why did you choose this location?

Translation:

I want to build the lunar camp on the side where the Earth is seen because that way the astronauts will have a better communication with the Earth and they will also be able to communicate with their families and so they will not feel too far from Earth but at the same time they will be able to do their work with ease.

Quiero construir el campamento lunar en la cara donde se vea la Tierra porque así los astronautas tendrán una mejor comunicación con la Tierra y también podrán comunicarse con sus familiares y así no se sentirán muy lejos de la Tierra pero a la vez podrán hacer su trabajo con facilidad.

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

Translation:

We have built: a house (so they can put their things and have a place to live during that time), a greenhouse (so they can grow fruits, vegetables and food), and a laboratory (so they can do their research calmly and with their space).

Hemos construido: una casa (para que puedan poner sus cosas y que tengan donde vivir ese tiempo),un invernadero (para que puedan cultivar frutas,verduras y comida), y un laboratorio (para que puedan hacer sus investigaciones con tranquilidad y con su espacio).

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

Translation:

Our lunar camp protects the astronauts because in their house, their greenhouse and their laboratory the environment and the roof are made of ultra-strong materials that can withstand earthquakes, extreme temperatures…etc.

Original text:

Nuestro campamento lunar protege a los astronautas porque en su casa, su invernadero y su laboratorio el entorno y el techo están hechos por materiales ultra fuertes que pueden soportar terremotos, temperaturas extremas…etc.

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.

Translation:

Our astronauts will not lack anything because inside their house they have a service where they will be given water by drops, food in frozen bags but they can be eaten because they are not frozen, the air will come from tubes and the power from cables connected to A battery.

A nuestros astronautas no les faltará nada porqué dentro de su casa tienen un servicio donde se les dará agua a base de gotas, comida en bolsas congeladas pero se pueden comer porque no están congeladas, el aire vendrá de tubos y la energía de cables conectados a una batería.

4.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

Translation:

We would include a gym along with a robot so that they can train and be prepared for situations similar to a lunar mission, earthquakes and things like that.
