Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

Translation:

Our camp has been carried out by a group of four thirteen-year-olds, from the IES Las Salinas institute, which is located in Spain (Málaga). It is in space, on the Moon we have water, energy, protection from meteorites, food, accommodation, means of transportation, a communication center, we have a cinema for leisure time and a hospital. We have put domes on the discovered sites so as not to die.

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

Translation:

Our astronauts want to build a lunar base so that when they arrive they will have the necessary food and the conditions to be able to inhabit the Moon for long periods of time without having to worry about their safety or the necessary food to be able to live. You have to have a laboratory to experiment with what was found in that place. The latter has to have a means of transportation to be able to move.

2.1.a – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

On the far side of the Moon

2.2.b – Why did you choose this location?

Translation:

Because it is always dark even though the sun shines on it, so our crops grow on the Moon and we can have energy thanks to our solar panels and with them we get energy for our entire lunar base.

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

Translation:

Our lunar camp is made of concrete because it is very hard and resistant to cold and bad weather, we use the Moon to collect energy, food, water, etc. In our lunar camp we build laboratories, hospitals, houses, cars, spaceships

Original text:

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

Translation:

Our camp consists of an anti-meteorite laser to protect us from them in the event that one is going to impact the area where our camp is located. We also have domes over the facilities that are uncovered, that is, the places, such as the laboratory, the rooms,… are covered by a dome so that there is oxygen in them.

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.

Translation:

Astronauts get food: water gets from lunar ice, food from greenhouses, power from solar panels, and communication from the communication tower we have machines that convert harmful gases into breathable air.

Original Text:

4.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

Translation:

The first thing would be that the astronauts go through hard training in which they go through high-risk circumstances that they will also have to go through on the moon, once on the moon they must train their physical condition so that neither mentally nor their state is damaged. physical nor mental

Original Text:
