Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

Translation:

This project has been entertaining for us and to a point complicated, because we had never done a job of this type and for the first time it has been quite good (but it does not mean that it could not be improved). It is a project with a space theme , what objects can be found on the moon, we have put some objects that we liked a lot. We are going to start to define the work a bit. We have put a couple of buildings, in which it looks like a normal house that we can see anywhere. Next we have put a patio where there is an orchard, stairs, a rocket, a space car… etc. We have done this project with the consent that astronauts can live there as here on earth (as at home).

Este proyecto nos ha resultado entretenido y hasta un punto complicado, porque nunca habíamos hecho un trabajo de este tipo y para ser la primera vez ha estado bastante bien(pero no quita que pueda ser más mejorable).Es un proyecto con la temática del espacio, que objetos se pueden encontrar la luna, hemos puesto unos objetos que nos han gustado mucho. Vamos a empezar a definir un poco el trabajo.Hemos puesto un par de edificios, en los que se parece una casa normal que podemos ver en cualquier lugar. A Continuación hemos puesto un patio donde hay huerto ,escaleras , un cohete ,un coche espacial …etc .Este proyecto lo hemos hecho a consentimiento en que los astronautas puedan vivir allí como aquí en la tierra (como en su casa ).

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

Translation:

Our astronaut wants to go to the moon because since he was little he dreamed of being an astronaut and experiencing that sensation of riding in a rocket and being on the moon, also to feel when you are flying (gravity). And deep down, he also found the outside world curious. And he finally got it.

Nuestro astronauta quiere ir a la luna porque desde pequeño soñaba con ser astronauta y experimentar esa sensación de montarse en un cohete y estar en la luna, también para sentir cuando estás volando (la gravedad). Y también en el fondo le resultaba curioso el mundo exterior.Y al fin lo consiguió.

Translation:

Because that place has not been visited by anyone and it was interesting to him, that’s why our astronaut wants to go to that part of the moon ¨the hidden side of the moon¨.

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

Translation:

A habitat on the lunar surface that can accommodate up to four people. A lunar terrain vehicle, a manned rover that will be in charge of transporting the crew from the landing zone. A habitable mobility platform, in which astronauts will be able to explore the lunar surface furthest from base camp.

Un hábitat en la superficie lunar en el que podrán alojarse hasta cuatro personas. Un vehículo de terreno lunar, un rover tripulado que será el encargado de transportar a la tripulación de la zona de aterrizaje. Una plataforma de movilidad habitable, en la que los astronautas podrán explorar la superficie lunar más alejada del campo base.

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.
