Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

Our mooncamp is a base in were there will be all of the resources. It is going to be formed about metals and irons, so it’s resistant to dangerous things. Inside there will be some rooms. One example of a room, will be the room of the plants that will take out the CO2 and expulse O2. In other room there will be animals, like pigs or cows, that provides lots of food.

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

We want to go to the moon, because we want to create and establish a new place where humans can live. That way we can have an ace up our sleeve in case the earth is in some danger. In addition to going to the moon, it has to be an incredible experience.

2.1.a – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Shackleton crater

2.2.b – Why did you choose this location?

I have chosen this place because it seems to me a good place, since you can see the earth, besides that you are in an underground place where you can see everything nearby and it is a great space in which you can create a good, safe place and big.

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

We are going to make a main base in which we will have all the main and necessary resources, with an exit in case of emergency where there will be an escape rocket. then there will be different sites for different sectors.  For example there will be a room for the plants other for the animals.

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

There will be strong and big walls that will protect if an asteroid is going to impact us. Another thing that we are going to have is an scape of emergency, for the cause in which there is a mortal emergency, that we c-an be able to scape from that place or from return to the Earth.

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.

We are going to have some espace to plants that provide and produce vegetables and fruits, the meat we are going to take it from another room in which we are going to have some pigs controlled from the gravity. The oxigen are going to be taked of plants, knowing that they throw oxygen and they take carbon dioxide.

4.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

I would include a safety test so that they train how to water the crops and a test regarding gravity, so that they are prepared for what they may find on the moon.
