Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

By and large, our base is in a crater, which has the benefit that no meteorites can hit. It is made for four astronauts, two gardener and one doctor. Here are solar panels that can . Then there is a main base where the astronauts live and next to it are connected by corridors the greenhouses to be supplied with food. The glass from our base protects people as well as plants from radioactivity and bad substances in the atmosphere. Then we have camp for food and water. The water is stored in the form of ice and when it is needed it is heated and flows through pipes to the right place. As vehicles, the astronauts have a shuttle, a drill rover to get to ores and several moon rovers. You can also send out search robots to explore the moon. if a vehicle is damaged it will be repaired in our solar powered workshop. Oxygen tanks are fired up

every other week and if the harvest goes bad, food can also be brought up. There are solar panels that are turned by an artificial intelligence in the direction of the sun, so they practically follow the sun. If the astronauts want to leave the base with a rover or something like that, then there is a kind of passage into the crater. This was our whole moon camp and we hope you like it.

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

They want to see how the life on the moon is and if it is possible that we use the room on the moon and build a new room for living.

2.1.a – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Shackleton crater

2.2.b – Why did you choose this location?

We chose the crater because it protects us from comets and asteroids.

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

The domes reflect radioactive radiation to protect the astronauts. The glass does the same with the plants.

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

The domes reflect radioactive radiation to protect the astronauts.

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.

The seeds are reused. Oxygen tanks are fired up. The water is stored in the form of ice and when it is needed it is heated and flows through pipes to the right place.

4.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

They have a trainings routine in the left dome.
