Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

Are moon base is an oval shape with a tall building with a stairs going around it with separate bases which it needs. Around the outside is a rocky type mountain going around the space station the mountain is used to stop strong winds from damaging the base. We have put solar batteries around the base to charge electronics and other electric powered things. We have a separate vegetable patch/garage to store food and water and we are growing vegetables in the other side of the vegetable patch/garage. There is a storage box on the other side of the base were we will put any rare materials we have found from the moon.

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

Are astronaut wants to go to the moon because he wants to find rare materials to bring back to earth to sell and use the money for projects in NASA.

2.1.a – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Shackleton crater

2.2.b – Why did you choose this location?

The side of the Shackleton crater because it provides sunlight for some hours and shade for some hours.

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

We will use the lunar soil as concrete as this will provide easy aces to essential resources it will also be very convenient as you wont have to travel long distances

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

re moon base will protect are astronauts from the harsh environment because we have radiation windows

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.

We will use the ice from the lunar poles to supply clean water to our astronauts as well as recycling waste products.  we will use waste as fertiliser to grow plants for food as well as growing algae to provide oxygen and as another food source.  Finally, we will use solar panels to generate electiricty and use solid state batteries to store energy when the solar panels are in shade.

4.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

We will use the astronaut training camp in Mexico (the one that simulates life on the moon) other than that we will use all regular training procedures
