Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

Translation:

The base of the moon is called base M, because M-moon, and it is not called base moon, because it would not be too original.

Original Text:

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

Translation:

To collect materials and test devices for other panet studies.

Original text:

2.1.a – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the lunar poles

2.2.b – Why did you choose this location?

Translation:

We chose this place because we thought we would have easy access to materials there, there would not be such big temperature fluctuations as at the equator, and there would be a beautiful view of the land.

Original Text:

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

Translation:

It would be necessary to take a pressure-resistant base cover, a continuous supply of air, water for the first months to the moon and the interior of the base.

Original Text:

Būtu nepieciešams aizvest spiedien izturīgu bāzes pārvalku, gaisa nepārtrauktu piegādi,ūdeni pirmajiem mēnešiem uz mēness un bāzes iekšas interjeru.

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

Translation:

Our lunar base provides safety for astronauts with the surrounding dome of the base, and if it collapses, the base still has strong walls made of lunar materials.

Original Text:

Mūsu Mēness bāze nodrošina drošību astronautiem ar apkārtējo bāzes kupolu un ja tas sabrūk ,tad bāzei vēl ir izturīgas no mēness materiāliem būvētas sienas.

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.

Translation:

Water
Using any water resources you can (e.g. Air, urine (remade), after time also water on the moon)

Food
Algae, canned food, astronaut food.

Electricity
Solar energy through solar panels.

Bright
Compressed air brought from the ground and by delivery.

Protection
Protects the dome and base walls.

Original Text:

4.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

Translation:

Gets up, checks if the robot has returned to the base and puts it on to charge, goes to the toilet, eats breakfast, sends the robot for the day, trains his hands and legs by pulling himself up and down the stairs, goes to the plant house, checks if there are any new messages from the ground , inspects and examines the materials brought by the robot, sends the information to the ground, rests, climbs to look at the stars on the landing area, checks whether all the equipment is working as it should, checks whether the day robot has arrived, rests, sends the night robot and goes to sleep.

Original text:
