Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

 

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

Translation:

My lunar camp has a house, Rover, curiosity, rocket, orchard and a solar energy generator to power the TV, the Rover will help us remove the ice and we will melt it in the house where the astronauts will live, the rocket will help us to go from the earth to the moon, and in the garden we will cultivate the plants.

Mi campamento lunar hay vivienda, Rover, curiosity, cohete, huerta y un generador de energía solar para alimentar el tv, el Rover nos ayudara a sacar el hielo y lo derritiéremos en la vivienda donde van a vivir los astronautas, el cohete nos ayudara a ir de la tierra a la luna, y en la huerta cultivaremos las plantas.

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

Translation:

To make discoveries never seen before and also to tour the moon

2.1.a – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the lunar equator

2.2.b – Why did you choose this location?

Translation:

Because the temperature is a little more bearable

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

Translation:

From the earth I would take fertilizer, seeds and soil to make my garden, and to be able to cultivate, and from the moon we would take the frozen water and with the Rover we melt it and also some solar panels to make energy from the sun

De la tierra llevaría abono, semillas y tierra para hacer mi huerta, y poder cultivar, y de la luna sacaríamos el agua congelada y con el Rover lo derretimos y también unos paneles solares para hacer energía del sol

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

Translation:

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.

We are going to get the water from the south pole of the moon, which is where there is frozen water, the food we will get from the seeds, the fertilizer and soil that we will take from the planet earth, the air we will get from the oxygen pipettes that we carry while we are plants begin to make oxygen, the energy we will get from the sun with solar panels

El agua la vamos a sacar del polo sur de la luna que es donde hay agua congelada, los alimentos lo sacaremos de las semillas, el abono y tierra que llevaremos del planeta tierra, el aire lo sacaremos de las pipetas de oxigeno que llevemos mientras las plantas comienzan a hacer oxígeno, la energía la sacaremos del sol con los paneles solares

4.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

Translation:

Astronauts should know how to plant, know mechanics, cook, know how to repair and know how to build houses.
