Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

Translation:

All our objects are made by hand, we have thought of doing this camp because we really like to do projects together. And we would like to be able to do a job that you like very much.

Todos nuestros objetos están hechos a mano, hemos pensado hacer este campamento porque nos gusta mucho hacer proyectos juntos. Y nos gustaría poder hacer un trabajo que os guste mucho.

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

Translation:

Our astronauts want to go to the Moon because they want to discover mysteries about it. They also want to go because they really like science and have dreamed of traveling to it since they were little.

Nuestros astronautas quieren ir a la Luna porque quieren descubrir misterios sobre ella. También quieren ir porque les gustan mucho la ciencia y sueñan desde pequeños viajar a ella.

2.1.a – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

2.2.b – Why did you choose this location?

Translation:

They are going to build it near the lunar equator because it is in the center and they have a better chance of seeing everything

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

Translation:

The natural resources of the Earth will be in a capsule with oxygen.

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

Translation:

Our camp is protected by a radioactive wave capsule. We also have capsules to live in that will protect you from the wind and cold.

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.

Translation:

The food will be obtained from cans of protein that they have brought from the ground and the water will be brought from a water bottle. The energy will be obtained thanks to the solar panels.

La comida la conseguirán de unas latas de proteínas que han traído de la tierra y el agua la traerán de una bombona de agua. La energía se conseguirá gracias a las placas solares.

4.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

Translation:

The astronauts will prepare thanks to a personalized training for the needs of each one, all of which will include resistance, strength and control.
