Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

Translation:

Our lunar station is based on 5 sections:

The main section.
A gym.
A laboratory.
A section that unites all of the above.
And a greenhouse.

Each of the places in our lunar station has been designed by each of the team members. there are also crew members each in place of the station.

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

It’s a hidden place that I think hasn’t been investigated and it could be something very interesting.

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

Translation:

Possibly all or almost all the materials for the lunar station are possibly of terrestrial origin, since things like food, drink, wood, glass and more, are necessary things only findable on our planet.

Posiblemente todos o casi todos los materiales para la estación lunar sean posiblemente de procedencia terrestre ,ya que cosas como comida, bebida, madera, vidrio y más ,son cosas necesarias únicamente localizables en nuestro planeta.

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

Translation:

Several solar panels are installed at the station to provide electricity and power to the station. Besides, it must be buried to be able to withstand radiation, protect itself from meteorites, extreme temperatures and the vacuum of space.

En la estación hay instalado varias placas solares para aportar electricidad y energía a la estación. A parte, debe ser enterrado para poder soportar radiación, protegerse de los meteoritos, las temperaturas extremas y el vacío del espacio.

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.

For food and water, at the station there is a greenhouse that is full of food resources like vegetables and more. For energy, there are solar panels installed to extract solar energy.

4.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

Translation:

To prepare a team of astronauts, one of the priorities is that the crew members are in shape to be able to withstand possible dangerous situations in space. At the station, there is a gym to maintain their muscles. Passengers must have spacesuits, for thermal control, supplies of oxygen and other life support.
