Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

Well, my project is siutated close to the lunar poles, which helps us to esacpe if there is a emergency. We have 2 mineral mining/colllecting sites. One of which is close to the hab and other one is a litlle far from the hab. The hab is large enough for 6 people with a pressure stabilizer. It also has a greenhouse which can be used to grow crops in case of a emergency. There is also a rover charging station.

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

My astronaut wants to explore the vast space and wnats to start with our own moon. He wants to build a moon camp of at least 6 months as he wants to study the moon carefully.

2.1.a – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the lunar poles

2.2.b – Why did you choose this location?

So that it helps in  an escape in case of a emergency.

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

Well, bascially most of the materials could be from Earth. Firstly, the astronauts will make a hab. Secondly they would stabilize the pressure. Then they would start the main oxygenator and water recycler and pumper. They would make a backup building which will hold the backup plans and the secondary oxgenator and water recycler and pumper. These materials would be bought from earth throught the rocket. They would also assembell a ROVER and make a ROVER charging station. These materials would be als brought from the Earth. They would carry abundant supply of food, water and oxygen. But, in case of a emergency they will be able to grow crops on moon. They would also mark 2 areas in which they will collect the minerals of moon.

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

Well, my hab in my moon camp project will have a pressure stabilizer. This will protect them from the pressure of moon. If the pressure stabilizer malfunctions they could live in the backup building until the pressure stabilizer is rebooted. If the oxygenator, water pumper or recycler breaks. The astronauts can use the secondary oxygenator, water pumper or rescyler until the mail ones(s) are fixed.

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.

Well, the astronauts can grow crops in the grennhouse.

4.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

Well, the astronauts should have basic space training. They should know how to assembell a rover and charge it. They should know how to grow crops and controll a rocket.
