Moon Camp Explorers 2022 – 2023 Project Gallery

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

1.1 – Project Description

Translation:

What I want to achieve with this space station is a new design for the new stations that is productive and innovative and in which you can live well and investigate things in space that have what is necessary. What I have put in the station espacial is a toy library for them to rest , have fun and calm down . I have also incorporated a laboratory, an infirmary, and some bathrooms. So that they can have a comfortable stay I have installed 2 tanks, one for oxygen and the other for water. The base has a field of solar panels that go to an energy store linked to an algae farm and an orchard. It has a train so that the base is perfectly communicated. It has silos to store food and four water treatment plants. Among other facilities, it has parking for space vehicles, shuttles with a rocket, a landing strip and a bunker against meteorites. To be in full contact with planet Earth, two radio antennas have been installed.

1.2 – Why do your astronaut want to go to the Moon and build a Moon Camp?

Translation:

What my astronaut wants is to feel calm, investigate everything around him, the secrets of the universe and bring stories about the moon and its curiosities.

Original Text:

2.1.a – Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Lunar lava tubes

2.2.b – Why did you choose this location?

Translation:

Because my astronaut wants to check if there is any phenomenon there and investigate it.

Original text:

Porque mi astronauta quiere comprobar si existe algún fenómeno allí e investigarlo .

2.2 How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Describe how you can use the Moon’s natural resources, and which materials you would need to bring from Earth.

Translation:

I plan to build my lunar camp big enough to have everything I need to live. I will use the resources of the moon hydrogen, oxygen, silicon, iron, magnesium, calcium, aluminum, manganese and titanium.

Original Text:

3.1 – How does your Moon Camp protect and provide shelter to your astronauts against the Moon’s harsh environment.

Translation:

I will protect the astronauts by putting up an oxygen dome and in an emergency, I will put up a meteor bunker.

Original text:

3.2 – On the Moon, resources are very scarce, but during long Moon missions, astronauts cannot rely on resupply missions from the Earth. Explain how your Moon Camp will provide astronauts with sustainable access to basic needs like water, food, air and power.

Translation:

The first rocket will have the basic resources to endure a long season and the basic construction materials to start building the orchards, the farm, the solar panels and the silos. In this way, basic needs could be covered.

Original Text:

4.1 – What would you include in your astronaut training programme, to help prepare the astronauts for a Moon mission?

Translation:

What it will include is a transfer to a NASA base so that they can be trained based on a series of tests such as space exams, rocket handling, physical tests and all the knowledge necessary to live in such adverse conditions.

Original Text:
