In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangers of space and describe the living and working facilities in their Moon Camp.

Translation:
Our lunar station is called “Plantstation Alpha ll.” because many different types of plants grow on our lunar base thanks to the production of oxygen from a hydrogen peroxide solution. This solution will be flown in from Earth by the Moon Station’s own rocket. These plants are then protected by a dome, so that animals such as insects could also live here for pollination. Water extraction is accomplished at our lunar base by heating the water ice on the moon and melting it. Plants can be watered in this way and drinking water can also be produced.

Unsere Mondstation heißt „Plantstation Alpha ll.“ , weil auf unserer Mondbasis viele verschiedene Pflanzenarten dank der Sauerstoffgewinnung aus einer Wasserstoffperoxidlösung wachsen. Diese Lösung wird durch eine eigene Rakete der Mondstation von der Erde eingeflogen. Diese Pflanzen sind dann von einer Kuppel geschützt, sodass auch Tiere, wie Insekten zur Bestäubung hier leben könnten. Die Wassergewinnung wird in unserer Mondbasis bewerkstelligt, indem das Wassereis auf dem Mond erhitzt wird und so schmilzt. So können Pflanzen gegossen werden und auch Trinkwasser hergestellt werden.

Our astronauts want to fly to the moond and build a moon camp because they want to learn more about the natural features of the moon. They want to find out if it is possible to create and manage forests with their own ecosystems on the moon. The long-term goal would be to build a sustainable and self-sustaining camp, perhaps as a base for a trip to Mars or as a prototype Mars Camp.
