Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2019-2020

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

In our Moon Camp we have discovered a way to produce water, food, oxygen. We have built some shelters and some robots. The robots can drive, pick up rocks and can drill to find ice. We also have built a green house, drills and two rockets so we can fly back to earth. Our protection is a magnetic field to secure us from falling asteroids

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the Lunar Poles

Why did you choose this location?

We buld  our Moon camp at the North Pole of the Moon because it’s the place we will have the machine that drills ice and then, using a special device, ice turns into water with heat.

Water
Food
Electricity
Air

Our moon camp gets water from ice. We have a drill compo machine that gets the ice, breaks it and then melts it to water. The provided water is distributed through a system which is located in the control tower. Astronauts can now easily use the water for their needs.

Our food is produced in the greenhouse we have built. We harvest bananas, pineapples, apples and strawberries and vegetables.

Our power suppliers are the sun collectors we have built. They turn the sun light into the energy we use for our living on the Moon.

The air we use is created by a special machine that turns energy to breathing air .

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Which materials would you use?

Our plan is to create a camp safe and secure. The materials must be very strong to survive high temperatures, gravity, pressure, vibrations  and impacts. The metal we use is alluminum. It’s a strong metal that can last the hardest conditions.

The Moon environment is very dangerous for the astronauts. Explain how your Moon Camp will protect them.

We have built a transparent dome which acts like a shield to protect astronauts from meteorites, asteroids and other accidental natural hazards. We need the dome/shield to hold within the oxygen in the camp.Besides the metal we used is very strong and it cannot be destroyed.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

When people who live in the Moon Camp wake up, they go and pick up their daily fruits and vegetables from the greenhouse. Then they all together cook and have their breakfast. After that they all follow their daily routine. Engineers work with machines, farmers work on the greenhouse and the explorers work on space investigation. After finishing their work they all gather together to have lunch and talk. They discuss next day’s plans and then they rest.
