Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2019-2020

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

Most of the base is under the surface as a protection against falling meteorites. Astronauts have to pass the air lock entering the space station due to changes in pressure. Due to the passageway astronauts get into the interspatial building and then transmit the results of their research. Another connecting corridor leads to the main building. In the main building there are laboratory, bathroom and bedroom, food store and lift which astronauts export up to the office. From the main building it is also an opportunity to get into two greenhouses, where the plants are grown for food and produce oxygen. There is also a building, which produces vital resources (electricity, water, heat, oxygen). White pipes distribute oxygen all over the moon station. From the main building astronauts can also get to the observatory, where they can watch the starry sky. Landing area is designed for space rockets and modules

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Close to the Lunar Poles

Why did you choose this location?

We choose this place because there is a lot of ice. We extract the ice and transform into the water.

Water
Food
Electricity
Air

We extract the ice by the borehole (22) and transform into the water.

There are two greenhouses (11,12), where the plants are grown for food.

There are five solar panels, which produce electricity.

There are two greenhouses which produce oxygen. White pipes (18) distribute oxygen all over the moon station.

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Which materials would you use?

First, the robots arrived at the moon to digged underground spaces. Then the astronauts came and built the iron constructions.

The Moon environment is very dangerous for the astronauts. Explain how your Moon Camp will protect them.

Most of the base is under the surface as a protection against falling meteorites. Greenhouses (11,12), and solar panels (16) are protected by the retractable walls against meteorites.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

Astronaut wakes up in the bedroom (5) and he can use the bathroom. Then he goes to the interspace (3) where he puts on a space suit. He goes out through the airlock where he collects samples. Then he returned through the airlock (1) into the interspace where he gives the samples. He also often works in a laboratory. After that he visits food store where he has lunch. He has an opportunity to go to the greenhouse(11,12). It is a place for relax and for have a dessert (fresh apples). For the relax he can visit sport centre(10). Astronaut can also get to the observatory (14), where he can watch the starry sky. In the evening after hard work he goes to bed in the bedroom.
