Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2019-2020

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

After arriving at the moon, first build the base, then install some solar panels and electrical appliances, release the lunar rover, then arrange the interior of the base, and then start planting plants and studying the lunar soil, so on and on.

Where do you want to build your Moon Camp?

Shackleton crater

Why did you choose this location?

Because the meteorite contains some useful elements that are not available on the moon, when the meteorite hits the moon’s surface, some elements go to the moon crater for easy extraction.

Water
Food
Electricity
Air

Water just needs to be broken down from the lunar soil in the lunar soil lab

We could eat edible greenhouse plants;Plants are grown in a greenhouse for consumption.

Solar panel power generation

Plants in greenhouse release oxygen through photosynthesis

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Which materials would you use?

Production materials: lunar soil, lead and aluminum alloy. Production method: first build a layer of shell made of aluminum alloy, then apply lead to prevent radiation. Then use 3D printer to print the shell with lunar soil, and the base shell is completed.

The Moon environment is very dangerous for the astronauts. Explain how your Moon Camp will protect them.

System for protecting astronauts: air flow generator: when a serious disaster occurs on the surface of the moon, this object will create air flow and push the base out of the atmosphere to ensure the safety of the base. After the disaster, the air flow will be reconstructed to return to the surface of the moon. Solar panel: collect the sun’s light to make electrons and generate electricity. Photon energy gun: use electricity to smash meteorites into slag. Escape capsule: in the event of a serious disaster on the surface of Mars, this object will fly away from the moon in a fully automatic or manual mode, and when the disaster is over, it will return to the surface of the moon.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

Get up in the morning, brush your teeth, have breakfast, and then assign the task to the rover. Then check and pick up some greenhouse plants, check the laboratory, accept the lunar soil brought back by the rover, decompose the soil to make oxygen, and do experiments on the soil, then have lunch, go for a walk after eating, and observe the surface of the moon by the way. After returning to the base, do fitness, and then play entertainment Move, finally have dinner, brush your teeth, sleep
