Moon Camp Explorers Gallery 2019-2020

In Moon Camp Explorers each team’s mission is to 3D design a complete Moon Camp using Tinkercad. They also have to explain how they will use local resources, protect astronauts from the dangerous of space and describe the living and working facilities.

Project description

The environment on the moon is terrible. Food、water、air、temperature、power ,are all the questions that we need to solve on the moon. So we need to make a comfortable ambient to let we feel invigorating.
First, our base must have its own water circulation system and solar power station. Also, there’s many helium on the moon so we can make a nuclear power station.This thing can make lots of power.
Second, our base also needs a chemical plant. It can cover ting lunar soil to oxygen and metal. It’s important to us to breath and make house.
In addition, we must bring food to the moon because if we raise animals on the moon, they will consume the oxygen. Opposite, we can grow many paints on the moon for clean the air.

We need to integrate the base for convenient and save resources.

Close to the Lunar Poles

Why did you choose this location?

There’s constant and ample sun light at the Lunar Poles. It can allow us to get continuous power and suitable temperature. It’s a consummate shadow area ,there are many ice and mineral substance. We can let the sunlight to illuminate the permanent shadow and allows it invert into water.

The water on the moon is precious ,so we need to build a water circulation system to cyclic purification water. Also ,we can let the sunlight to illuminate the permanent shadow and allows it invert into water. In addition ,we can use hydraulic electro generating. The energy it produces will use on circulate and purify the water we use.

We need to save the oxygen on the moon. We shouldn’t keep foster animals on the moon, because the animals can deplete the oxygen. Opposite to the animals ,we should plant many plants on the moon .Plants should plant in a warm house, it can clean the air. Kill two birds with one stone, we also can eat the plant.

We use solar panels to collect sunlight when the sun is shining, and the base can use the sunlight and convert it into electricity. In the absence of the sun can use previously converted electricity to light. Water can be recycled, filtered in between, or distilled when the sun is shining for easy drinking. Another way is to get water at the poles.

How do you plan to build your Moon Camp? Which materials would you use?

We built our camp using earth-generated materials from the moon, converting the lunar soil into printing material, layer by layer. At the same time, you can use the electricity in the solar battery to run the printer, or you can install solar panels on the printer, you can work while obtaining energy to provide their own energy, you can save points for the battery. After the printer has collected the soil can be as flat as possible to facilitate construction.

The Moon environment is very dangerous for the astronauts. Explain how your Moon Camp will protect them.

Our base residence is set on the lava pipeline of the moon, where the temperature is suitable, the average temperature is minus 20 degrees, and the temperature difference between morning and evening is not large. In addition, the solar energy is converted into heat for heating to provide astronauts with a comfortable temperature. Our base is set underground  To ensure the safety of astronauts.

Describe a day on the Moon for one of your Moon Camp astronauts

After they get up in the morning, they will check all the equipment to make sure that nothing will happen in a day, and then make a temperature forecast condition prediction to ensure that timely measures can be taken. After these protective measures are completed, they start the exercise.  We Designed a sports field, everyone stepped on the bicycle, we converted the kinetic energy generated by their cycling into electricity, and we designed the entertainment place to let them experience the freedom on the earth, and then the staff will start mobile mining  Base, carry out mining. When the chemical plant is started, the recovered ore is chemically transformed into oxygen or other. After a day of life, the astronauts will test all equipment again.  In the end, they will take a bath, and we have designed water circulation equipment so that water will not be wasted.
