Project description

Our base has a scientific purpose. So, for that reason, we have chosen the south pole of the moon. This is because recent discoveries have determined that there is water there. For that reason, we thought that place would be a perfect place to investigate and study the moon. However, this base might also be used by tourists who want to experience what it is like to live on the moon, and as it will also be used by them, we want to ensure they have beautiful sights and interesting things to see. That is why we thought that this was the perfect place to establish our base.

All the entire base will be constructed in the same material, regolith. This is a material found in the moon’s floor. This material would be collected by a machine, and then ,a giant 3D printer prints the structure of the house. This material is yet to be tried. However, there are some projects which aim to make a base on the moon out of this material by 2030.

The base would be organized in the following way. Whether you arrive by  spacecraft or by rover, you will have a place to park, as the base will be dotted with a runway and a parking lot for rovers. The base will have only one fully functional gate. as there will only be one more which will be an emergency one. As you enter the base, you will have a corridor, where every bacteria or pollutant substance will be removed. Then, as you enter the first dome, you will have the lab. There, all the investigation will be done. After it, there will be the rooms, with their respective accommodations such as bathrooms, a living room and kitchen. Lastly, there will be two greenhouses. One will be fully dedicated to growing crops and the other one will be dedicated to little animals or other types of crops.
