Project description
For our lunar accommodation created in this project, we have chosen a modern, yet effective and strategic moon camp. Not only does it use renewable energy, but it contains underground conduits, making the life of astronauts much simpler; despite the obvious difficulties and challenges of constructions made in the lunar terrain, this ambitious project could definitely be achieved by the use of advanced materials and the latest technology.
In this first image, representing the front view, one main element is observed. In the first place, three satellite dishes are placed in the most visible wall. We have decided to install them in this precise place, with the idea of them being able to capture any abnormal movement occurring in outer space, from meteorites approaching the moon, to any other outer space object orbiting. This avant-garde equipment will provide us with interesting, precise and valuable information about deep space. Another aspect to mention is the fact that the entire camp is made up of a see-through material. Even though it may seem an aesthetic element, its use its justified by the easy observation of the universe from the inside of the lunar base.
Now, we are moving on to the left sided view, were our main source of energy lays. This are the solar panels found in this wall. From them all the energy needed in the whole camp is extracted. Not only does it supply electricity to the lunar base, but it is also cumulative, meaning that it also works as a way of earning money, since it can be sold in the market.
In its right side we are able to appreciate a not entirely visible conduct, which connects the exterior with the inside of the tent. This entrance is protected by a semi spherical shaped door that is able to open and close in a hermetic way if necessary. If this was not to happen, there would be a decompensation in the inter atmosphere, which could lead to severe problems when the regulation of the air inside of the cabin takes place.
From the back view, we can see one of the most important aspects of the project, the space rocket placed inside the capsule. This artifact will enable us to explore outer space, at the same time as having a stable accommodation in our satellite. More about this system will be explained in the description of the top view.
In the top view, a hole is distinguished in the rooftop. Thanks to this idea, we can the rocket to space and obtain information from these trips. However, it has a safely closed cover that stops air from entering the accommodation.
Unfortunately, we cannot actually see anything remarkable in the view from the bottom part, yet, if the lunar floor was see-through, we could appreciate the underground tunnels that have already been mentioned, the ones connecting the outer moon and the interior of the moon camp.
To sum up, we have found this creative experience really rewarding and enjoyable. We must specify this project consists in a 3D design, though for being constructed in a larger size, not for being 3D printed. We hope you have liked this challenge as much as we have.
