Project description
Which planet did we choose and why? – We have chosen the Moon primary because many components and structures can be constructed and built from the lunar dust. Also due to fact that people had already been to the moon and lunar journeys are explored.
*Main Station – In our Moon Camp there is a Main Station equipped with computers. These workstations can communicate with people, conduct various research studies, and record their findings. The computers rest on tables made from lunar dust and melted ice excavated from the Moon. This durable material was discovered and created during one of the lunar expeditions. Nearby there’s also a table with water. All furniture, accessories, devices, and items are secured and anchored to prevent their movement in microgravity. Astronauts also study a special lunar rock, which helps humans and animals breathing on the Moon.
*Greenhouse – Above the Main Station, there is a Greenhouse where bushes and trees are planted, allowing astronauts to eat fresh vegetables and fruits. Apples and cherries grow on the trees, while raspberries and other fruits – on the bushes and shrubs. There are also various vegetable seedlings.
*Lounge – Above the greenhouse is a lounge, where you may come with your astronaut friends to watch a scary movie or just relax. There are also two trees that help astronauts to breathe, as well as a chill-out sofa and armchairs.
*SPA – From the Main Station, if we go down a narrow corridor, we reach would the SPA. There is a jacuzzi here, and next to it six loungers are placed. Nearby, there’s a table with mango cocktails from our own cultivation. Next to the loungers, there is a shelf with face masks and a wardrobe with bathrobes. Astronauts has a ritual of performing skincare treatments every Sunday.
*Bathroom – In the bathroom, you will find a toilet, a bathtub, a sink, and two vanity tables. There is a bathroom on each of the three floors, all of them being equipped the same way, and there are blinds on the wall for privacy. Above the bathroom, there are solar panels that produces power supplying the entire moon camp and its electrical devices.
*Gym – A corridor from the bathroom leads to the Gym, where you can practice Yoga and Pilates, but also ball exercises to keep astronauts in shape. There is a table next to it with water and balls.
* Kitchen – The kitchen is very necessary for survival in space, as well as it is on Earth. It contains a refrigerator powered by solar panels, and a stove with a sink and a oven. All devices are made from lunar dust and ice. The kitchen also has a dining area with six inflatable chairs for scientists’ comfort. Next to the refrigerator is an aquarium with fish, containing lunar rocks and fish. In the kitchen, like in other rooms, you will also find trees that help to breathe.
* Water Purification – A very important room is the water purification station, where urine is filtered to make it suitable for drinking, washing, and watering plants. * Music Room – We have designed this room so that astronauts can relax listening or playing the music and not think about being so far from family and friends. It contains a guitar, drum, harp, tambourine, keyboard, and flute. On the roof, the solar panels are installed.
* Vestibule – Two tight and armored doors. The vestibule is a mandatory room in the space where astronauts puts their suits on. It contains a rug, a small table, and two inflatable puffs.
* Veterinary Office* – We decided to create a veterinary office. In this room, the cosmonauts will study animals’ reactions to lunar rocks. Currently, there are lizards, and next to them are lunar rocks which will be placed in the lizard cages for experimentation. There is also a desk with a notebook and pencil to record animal’s behaviors.
* Bedroom – The bedroom is equipped in six beds with very thick quilts for extremely cold conditions, and under the bed, there is a blanket for warmer temperatures and pajamas. Next to the beds, an alarm clock is placed so they don’t oversleep and keep the routine.
* Wardrobe – The wardrobe contains six closets in which shoes, sweaters, blouses, pants are stored.
* Library – Above the bedroom, there is the library. You will find there the six armchairs and six small tables with books. Each astronaut has one of such handbooks containing information for surviving in space. There are two stacks of these books.
* What are the walls made of? – The walls, floors, and ceilings are made of lunar dust and ice- a very durable material, resistant to extreme weather conditions.
