Project description

Food: In the mars project of the red people food is grown at the location and once a year a supply of meat which is stored in our cooled storage boxes comes in. The food is grown in a greenhouse, which needs to be taken care of frequently. The crops that are grown in the garden consist of: Lettuce, Tomatoes, Onions, Potatoes, Wheat, Cucumbers and some other plant-based spices. The greenhouse produces enough food for 20 people in a year.
Energy: the energy for our mars base comes mainly from clean energy sources, like solar and wind. This way it is much easier to maintain power without any outside help for a long time. The energy is used for various things, like charging devices, communication and heating. Some of the energy is also used to acquire water through drills under the water tanks.
Bedrooms: The same as everywhere else, a place for a human to sleep is nothing short of a necessity. In this base there are two bedrooms. Each of these bedrooms can fit up to 8 people. Since the beds are two floored, they don’t take up a lot of bedroom space and there is still room for other activities.
Toilets and showers: They are a necessity for every base. Having access to toilets and showers ensures comfort and helps to maintain hygiene, reducing the risk of health issues. Also, toilets help to prevent contamination of the environment on Mars by containing human waste in the right places. Additionally, showers can be used for relaxation in releasing stress and improving the Mental health of the astronauts.
Storage: most of the items inside of our base are stored in the storage room, where there are many boxes. These boxes contain microscopes, bottles to store samples, first aid kits and more. However, some boxes are left empty in case there is a need to transfer items from Mars back to the Earth. The storage is also cooled to better preserve items inside of it.
Exercise: The astronauts have to exercise every day as the decreased gravity of mars can cause their bodies to become weak and fragile when they eventually must get back to earth. They exercise 2 hours a day. The astronauts have an exercise schedule to follow which tells them the most efficient way to work out their body.
Antennas: Antennas on Mars are used for faster communication with the Earth’s science center. They are used to transmit and receive radio waves, microwaves etc. It is crucial for command updates, navigation and remote control. It ensures the astronauts’ safety because they can easily reach for help in an emergency.
Laboratory: Many would consider the laboratory one of the most important rooms in this base, because astronauts came here to gather scientific information about the mysterious planet “Mars” and its secrets. The laboratory is used for investigating items found on Mars such as: rocks, dirt etc. The laboratory can also be used to combine chemicals found on Mars and chemicals that we know from Earth to create new innovations.
Overall, this is a perfectly suitable base for humans and their needs. This base has everything for survival and more. This base is also designed in a specific way, so that they wouldn’t even notice that they are in space.
