Project description

We have selected the Gale Crater region on Mars as the site for our base construction, which has significant advantages: it features relatively warm temperatures and ample sunlight on the Martian surface; its geographical location near the Martian equator is more conducive to rocket launches. Our base design adopts a combination of surface and underground structures, aimed at safeguarding against meteorite impacts while ensuring stable internal temperatures.
The overall layout of our base is primarily layered, divided into five levels. The first level is mainly a testing area, facilitating research work for scientists. The second level consists of the main control area and office space, enabling relevant personnel to carry out administrative tasks. The third level serves as a fitness area, leisure area, and dining area, supporting the daily lives of research personnel. The fourth level is the bottom level of the base, serving as the entry and medical assistance area for personnel. The fifth level is the bottommost layer, serving as a rest area for working staff.
Regarding water and power supply, we mainly employ local resources, while waste disposal primarily relies on microbial fermentation to achieve resource recycling. Around the base, there are also nearby Mars stations and cargo spacecraft, with innovative features including mimicking geomagnetic devices and magnetic levitation elevators. The base is overall simple yet fully equipped with internal facilities, catering to the needs of research personnel more effectively.
Our primary purpose is scientific research, focusing on studying the living conditions of organisms on Mars and exploring novel transgenic technologies for organisms. We also aim to investigate the existence of life on Mars, providing food and other resources for future Martian colonization missions. We will utilize Martian soil to produce building bricks. By using local materials, we can reduce the cost and time of transporting building materials from Earth, thus enhancing sustainability.
