Project description

First, let’s talk about the environment and resources of Mars, whose surface is mostly made up of basalt. The ubiquitous iron oxide in Martian soil gives the planet its distinctive red color. Mars has many surface features similar to our planet: valleys, deserts, mountains, and polar ice caps. There are even rivers on the triangular continent, which indicates that there was water on Mars in the past.

Secondly, a little bit about our camp: Camp location: The camp will be built in the southern part of the Utopia Plains, the southern end is close to the equator, there is more solar energy, the temperature is higher than elsewhere, and it is closer to the water source of our choice (MFF area). The functional areas include: 1. Space station area: in the context of current space exploration, the camp can be used as a transit station for space exploration, 2. Scientific research area: can be used for scientific research 3. Living area 4.Entertainment area: cinema and gym for astronauts to entertain 5.Planting area: vegetable and fruit production 6.Water storage area: 7.Space protection section: protection against meteorites.8.Mars rover: collection of materials. 9. Means of transportation: The space station is used to transport materials. How to get the necessities of life: 1. Water: The Martian strata and some areas are rich in water ice resources, such as the Medusa Nest Formation (MFF) area on the Martian equator, which is the largest ice layer found on the equator. 2. Oxygen access: Oxygen will be obtained directly through the electrolysis of catalytic water (catalysts can be made from rocks on Mars) and using an efficient air circulation system. 3. Energy Access: Solar energy will be converted into electricity to supply 4. Food: Since Martian soil is not available, we will use hydroponics to grow food and bring some easy-to-store food from Earth as a backup.

Finally, the role of the camp: 1. In the context of the current space exploration, the camp can serve as a transit point for space exploration, 2. The camp can be used for scientific research 3.
